Dee Woods Catches Up With Biffy Clyro’s Ben Johnston

Unless you're mad - you'd have heard by now that Biffy Clyro are heading to the Helix in September for a sold out 'unplugged' tour.
They're one of Scotland's biggest exports and now, Biffy Clyro are following in the footsteps of Nirvana, Oasis and Pearl Jam by doing MTV Unplugged!
After a very well received gig at London's Roundhouse, that's now available on CD and DVD, the band are kicking off an MTV Unplugged tour in Dublin's The Helix this September.
The band's drummer, Ben Johnston, chatted to Dee Woods on Nova Lunchbreak about stripping back their songs, which cover song they've chosen to give the Biffy Clyro treatment and what's coming next for the band!

He was the host of Republic of Telly and has starred in numerous comedy shows such as Nowhere Fast and Hardy Bucks - but now, Cavan funny man Kevin McGahern is taking the road himself.
His stand up show The Boxty Monologues will be hitting up Whelan's this evening, May 30th, and he'll then be hitting the road to take on Kilkenny's Cat Laughs this weekend!

Kilkenny is the hub for animation in Ireland, and Ballyfermot College of Further Education in Dublin is producing winners!
With the 'Cartoon Saloon' getting it's third Oscar nomination at this years awards for The Breadwinner, CEO and cartoonist Paul Young dropped by the Nova Lunchbreak studio to chat to Dee Woods about going for gold in Hollywood, while Naoise Nunn from 'Kilkenny Animated' talks about how animated we should be getting for the brand new festival!

She's just finished season one of Nowhere Fast, the comedy she wrote and starred in, but it's clear Alison Spittle is going places... and fast!
She dropped in to the Radio Nova Lunchbreak studio for a chat with Dee Woods for what started as a chat about TV land and her upcoming stand-up show, Worrier Princess in Vicar Street on January 13th.
